Derby 2 Weeks From Today - My Super Bowl

Well we are two weeks from the first Saturday in May.  Much like the time leading up to the Super Bowl, I will be impersonating Peyton Manning (maybe Drew Brees this year) breaking down tapes of the key prep races. Madden Clicker and all -- stop, rewind, play, stop, rewind, play (I really did get annoyed when he would do that). This habit allows me to find strengths and weaknesses in each contender in order to develop a Belichickesque game plan in order to make a worthy selection. Having not strayed too far from this methodology, my Derby Record speaks much louder than any words would.  One of my Dad's favorite sayings.

Side Note - My beloved Vikings fell short of Super Bowl because of Childress' disorganization after a timeout sending 12 players into the huddle which pushed them out of field goal range and forced Favre to go back to his early Packer years on his last play. Needless to say to have a chance with the turnover difference in that game was a miracle.
Here's what to expect from Rider's Up! leading up to the Run for the Roses.
Preps - Breaking down the key races while providing links.  DRF - Derby Preps
Works - I'll be your Adam Schefter & John Clayton with how the connections are preparing.
Pedigree - Provide insight the contenders family tree.  Can the horse go 1 1/4 miles or 10 furlongs?
Derby Trends - You will gain a perspective on the Derby trends many of which have been falling since my favorite Derby with Funny Cide winning in 2003 as the first gelding to win since 1929 (Clyde Van Dusen) and followed by last year's shocking winner Mind That Bird.
Post Position Draw - Critical component to my selections.
Selection - All this study will lead to what in the past was my newsletter.  This will be out on Friday April 30 and be heavily detailed and hopefully answer your questions.

The anticipation is running high. Love this time of year having the Master's kick it off, NHL Playoffs, Baseball underway, NFL Draft, culminating with Bob Costas interviewing the winning connections.  See you in the Winner's Circle.  Riders Up!
