Derby Pedigrees PP 1-5

Breeding is where they make the big bucks!  An essential component of horse racing and the developing a Derby Champion who has both speed to go along with stamina.  History does have a way of locating the winner of the fastest two minutes in sports.  Let's focus on each horse and their families.

Special thank you to Brisnet and KentuckyDerby.com
1 - Lookin At Lucky has strong heritage with perennial Derby father's as Raise A Native, Danzig and Mr. Prospector.  Certain go go 9 furlongs and 10 is not so much a question given the rail ride.
2 - Ice Box Undeniably the strongest breeding from the Derby perspective.  A classic breeding for this race and undoubtedly can go the distance and demonstrates enough closing speed to match style. Mr. Prospector, Seattle Slew, Storm Cat, Alysheba, AP Indy and Pulpit - WOW!
3 - Noble's Promise works the Mr. Prospector line with Carson City.  Big problem for me here with Cuvee and Clever Trick really being speed and not showing the stamina needed -- questions???
4 - Super Saver has solid stamina from the mother's side with Seattle Slew, Mr. Prospector and AP Indy.  The speed on the father's side makes it one to consider from a pedigree perspective.
5 - Line of David certainly has plenty of speed (father was Lion Heart - 2nd to Smarty Jones in slop most likely he will face) Storm Cat, Seattle Slew and the very solid Raise a Native (great grandpa)

See you in the Winner's Circle. Riders Up!
