Gearing up for Derby 2011

Back for another year of providing analysis on the Run for the Roses and other legs of the Triple Crown.  Mindful of the preps to date and gathering intel on each of the potentials -- the smell of roses is upon us.  Look for my analysis of these key races as we head toward the first Saturday in May.

Although I did not pick the winner in each Triple Crown race last year, my handicapping was spot on with my selection finishing Place in Derby (Ice Box), Show in Preakness (Jackson Bend) and Place in Belmont (Fly Down) -- chalk it up to being horse racing's version of a bridesmaid.  Alert Alert shameless plug coming -- This paid handsomely for those who followed my lead. Had you wagered $100 across the board on my selection in each race it would have yielded -- calculator please -- $985 ($1,1895 in winnings less $900 in bets).  Not bad for a little over 6 minutes of action.
