Preakness 2016

Fresh off a thrilling and convincing victory in the Kentucky Derby, Nyquist returns for the renewal of the 2016 Preakness Stakes.  His win in the Derby was impressive given the fast fractions that even his owner Paul Reddam voiced concern during the race.  Like the Derby, Nyquist and Exaggerator are the top 2 to watch.  This race has seven colts with early speed which is different than the Derby couple that with rainy weather it could make for an interesting race. Can Nyquist handle the slop?

Someone placed an $80,000 win bet on lightly raced Stradivari which will play with the odds a little.  Thinking that person may have mistakenly believed they were buying a vintage violin.

Hard not to like Nyquist here which would set up another Triple Crown possibility.  I do like Exaggerator with the weather, pace scenario and Desormeaux local knowledge.  Cherry Wine and Fellowship should be coming strong at the end.
